We are a charity committed to raising awareness and supporting early detection and treatment of cardiovascular diseases among the most vulnerable in Nigeria.
Bob Olukoya Foundation (BOF) was formed in 2016 by Bob Olukoya, a lawyer, public commentator, philanthropist and sport administrator. Together with members of his family, he was determined to see an end to avoidable deaths of young men and women from cardiac diseases in Nigeria. This was after his own near-death encounter with chronic coronary heart disease that warranted an 11-hour open heart surgery at the Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, United Kingdom in 2015.
Within the short period of its existence, Bob Olukoya Foundation in partnership with the Bob Olukoya Cardiac Foundation (BOCF) in the United Kingdom had provided succor to hundreds of young indigent Nigerians in terms of early detection, treatment, education and awareness of various types of cardiovascular diseases. We still continue to do more through the help and support of the friends of Bob Olukoya (FOB)
Our mission is brought to life through our advocacy, interventions and programmes all over Nigeria. The Foundation leverages on strong relationships in the health, development, public and private sectors to drive our diagnosis, awareness and early detection of cardiovascular diseases amongst young Nigerians.
The personal desire of Bob Olukoya is to see that every Nigerian especially the most vulnerable have access to cardiovascular diagnostic and first aid support within Nigeria at affordable cost.
